Terms of Service
$ last updated: 2026-07-22
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SongAPI — the website at songapi.dev, the dashboard at console.songapi.dev, and the API at api.songapi.dev (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and "you" refers to it.
01The service
SongAPI is a developer API for AI music generation. You send requests (generate, extend, cover, add vocals, lyrics), we route them to AI music generation infrastructure, and return the resulting audio and metadata to you via the API and webhooks. The Service is provided on a pay-as-you-go credit basis and includes a free sandbox environment for testing.
02Accounts and API keys
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
- API keys are secrets. You are responsible for keeping them confidential and for all activity under your keys, whether or not authorized by you. If a key is compromised, roll it immediately from the dashboard.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Service.
- One person or entity may not maintain multiple free accounts to circumvent limits.
03Credits and billing
- Usage is paid for with prepaid credits, purchased as credit packs through Stripe. Each successful generation debits credits at the rates published on the pricing page.
- Credits do not expire.
- Credits are refunded automatically to your balance when a generation fails on our side or on an upstream provider's side. Credit purchases are otherwise non-refundable except where required by law.
- If you enable auto top-up, you authorize us to charge your saved payment method when your balance drops below your configured threshold.
- Credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are not redeemable for money.
- Prices and credit costs may change; changes apply to future purchases and usage, never retroactively to credits already spent.
- Sandbox usage is free and does not consume credits; sandbox output is watermarked placeholder audio not intended for production use.
04Fair use and rate limits
Concurrency limits apply per account and increase with your cumulative top-up history as described on the pricing page. We may apply reasonable rate limits to protect the platform. Attempting to evade limits (for example by spreading traffic across accounts) is a breach of these Terms.
05Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- generate content that is unlawful, infringes third-party rights, or impersonates a real artist's voice or identity without authorization;
- generate content intended to deceive, defame, or harass;
- resell raw access to the API in a way that masks the end user from us while evading limits;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the Service or attempt to access other customers' data;
- reverse engineer the Service except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.
06Generated content and ownership
- Your inputs (prompts, lyrics, reference audio you upload) remain yours. You grant us the rights needed to process them through the Service, including passing them to the upstream generation infrastructure that renders your request.
- Your outputs: as between you and us, you own the audio you generate and may use it in personal and commercial projects. You are responsible for ensuring your specific use complies with applicable law in your jurisdiction.
- You are responsible for the inputs you provide — including having the necessary rights to any audio you upload for extend, cover, or add-vocals requests.
- AI-generated music may be similar to other generated outputs, and the copyright status of AI-generated works varies by jurisdiction. We make no warranty of uniqueness or registrability.
07Third-party services
The Service depends on third-party infrastructure, including upstream AI music generation providers, Stripe for payments, and Supabase for authentication and data storage. Generated audio is initially served from provider content delivery networks and may only be retained there for a limited time — download and store output you want to keep permanently.
08Availability
We aim for high availability (see the status page) but the Service is provided without a guaranteed service level. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable.
09Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
11Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, create risk for the platform, or are required to be terminated by law. On termination we will, on request and where legally permitted, refund the unused credit balance of accounts in good standing.
12Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes we will give notice (for example by email or a dashboard banner) before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
